Texarkana Homeless Coalition’s Chili Cook Off — January 24, 2020, 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at 400 East 6th Street

2020 Theme — Comic Book and Superhero Characters — $25 entry fee

Trophies for best theme, aroma, flavor, heat, texture, and uniqueness. Raffle for Yeti cooler.

Funds will be used to coordinate homeless services, fund scholarships, and educational opportunities.

ON FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 14, 2020 THE TEXARKANA AREA VETERANS COUNCIL (TAVC) WILL HOST THEIR 21st ANNUAL CHILI COOK-OFF AT THE TRUMAN ARNOLD CENTER AT THE TEXARKANA COLLEGE. AREA CHILI COOKS WILL BE COMPETING FOR TROPHIES IN THREE CATAGORIES: BUSINESS, CIVIC GROUPS AND INDIVIDUAL. THERE WILL ALSO BE A "PEOPLE'S CHOICE" AWARD AND AN AWARD FOR "BEST PRESENTATION", BOTH CHOSEN BY THE PUBLIC.FUNDS FROM THIS EVENT WILL BE USED TO PURCHASE A NEW DAV VAN (WHEN NEEDED) TO TRANSPORT LOCAL VETERANS TO THE VA MEDICAL CENTER IN SHREVEPORT, LA & TO ASSIST LOCAL VETERANS AND THEIR FAMILIES. THE DOORS WILL OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AT 11:00 AM UNTIL 1:00 PM. TICKETS ARE SIX DOLLARS. EACH TICKET WILL ALLOW YOU TO SAMPLE EACH CHILI AND WILL ENTER YOU TO WIN DOOR PRIZES.

3rd ANNUAL "WAGONS FOR VETERANS"
SATURDAY, APRIL 18, 2020

WHAT: "WAGONS FOR VETERANS" A fundraiser to raise funds to assist local disabled and needy veterans of all eras. You can come out and see 12 or more chuckwagons (and other displays) hear local bands, gates open at 10:00 am, (looking is free) and for just $10 for adults, $5.00 for children 12 and under, eat from a varied menu of food cooked the old fashioned way - in cast iron pots over an open fire. Will start feeding at 11:30 am until all the food is gone. Live Auction @ 12:30 pm. Wine raffle.

WHO: Vietnam Veterans of America, Texarkana Area Chapter # 278

WHERE: Four States Fairgrounds, behind the Rodeo arena.

WHEN: Saturday, April 18, 2020. Gates open at 10 am, feeding starts at 11:30 am until all the food is gone!

The Alzheimer's Alliance Tri-State Area cordially invites you to be a part of the mix and join us for the 6th Annual Twice as Fine Texarkana Wine Festival, a one-of-its kind wine, art, music and food festival for the Four States Area. The Twice as Fine Texarkana Wine Festival will target a highly affluent audience of wine and food enthusiasts. Wineries from across the State of Texas, numerous merchants and local businesses will give visitors an opportunity to taste and purchase wines and gourmet treats at their best, all from one location. Great music, artisan crafts and food tasting are always “Twice as Fine when there's Wine!!!” In 2019, about 12,000 visitors attended the 5th annual Twice as Fine Texarkana Wine Festival.

The annual event will be held at beautiful Spring Lake Park in Texarkana on Saturday, May 2, 2020. 

100% of our proceeds will be used LOCALLY for Alzheimer's Alliance Tri-State Area and Our Place Respite Care Center.
