Attention Business Owners: 3 Facts You Need To Know

4/20/2021 (Permalink)

Your commercial building can be affected by flooding from several sources. Water damage can include warped flooring and moldy drywall, but one of the more immediate issues caused by flooding is the influx of contaminated water. If your business has recently been damaged by flooding, it can be helpful to understand how this type of water can cause long-term damage and what you can do to mitigate it.

  1. It Can Contain Dangerous Chemicals

Environmental experts often call contaminated water that stems from flooding Category 3. This means the water did not come from a sterile source and may contain a variety of hazardous components, including harsh sewer and lawn chemicals that entered the water during flooding. These chemicals can make the water dangerous to touch, so calling in a flood damage and cleanup service is the safest way to have it removed.

  1. It May Make You Sick

Category 3 water damage can be dangerous in more than one way. For example, standing black water can grow microbes that may cause a variety of health effects. Urine and feces may also be present, even if they are not immediately visible, so it is wise to avoid this type of water completely and wait for professional cleanup services to arrive.

  1. Acting Quickly Can Be Essential

Because contaminated water can become more dangerous the longer it sits, it is a good idea to call in a cleanup crew right away. This can be important even if you believe the worst of the damage has already been done. Having the water removed may reduce the chances of long-term issues with your building’s affected floors and walls and prevent mold growth, which can be difficult to treat once it takes hold.

Cat 3 water damage can harm your  commercial building in several ways. However, when you know its dangers and how to combat it, you may be able to prevent the worst of the destruction.

If your commercial building has experienced a water emergency call SERVPRO of Texarkana  903-832-4400.

Four Tips To Handle The Aftermath Of A Commercial Fire

9/10/2020 (Permalink)

When a fire strikes on your commercial property, it's quite likely that you feel yourself start to panic. This immediate reaction makes sense given all of the economic turmoil and property destruction that a fire can cause. However, knowing which steps to take in the face of a commercial fire can help prevent you from becoming anxious, losing money, and undergoing extensive property damages. To handle a fire successfully and speedily, implement the following four tips:

1. Contact A Fire Remediation Expert.
Once the fire department has doused all of the flames, be sure to call a fire remediation expert. This individual will be able to equip you with a thorough assessment indicating the extent of the damages. Don't ever attempt to handle any of the cleanups, drying, or restoration processes on your own. Doing so could put you in peril of injury and illness.

2. Assemble Your Records.
In addition to contacting a fire remediation expert, make sure that you assemble your business's essential records. You'll want to have this information with you when you start working with your insurance company. To guarantee that you can have all of your files ready in a safe place, make a point to buy a fireproof safe where they can be stored.

3. Call The Insurance Company Immediately.
Be sure that you call your insurance company once the fire is put out. This step is important because your insurance agent will work with you to file a claim and determine how much coverage you'll attain for the commercial damages.

4. Get Permission To Reenter The Building.
Always ask the fire department or another local authority whether you can reenter your building. In some cases, fires can weaken the structural integrity of the commercial property and make it subject to collapse. This is why you need to assure that reentry is safe for you and your employees.

Call SERVPRO For Fast, Friendly Fire Remediation Services
If your business caught on fire, don't worry. Instead, call the professionals of SERVPRO and let us start cleaning up immediately. Acting right now is the key to limiting damages and expediting the restoration process, and choosing our team of industry specialists is the secret to attaining the sophisticated services you deserve. All of our IICRC-certified technicians will work with diligence and determination to get your commercial property back in pristine condition, so call us now at (903) 832-4400.

Commercial Property Water Loss and Extraction

8/21/2020 (Permalink)

Water is the single most long-term destructive substance in the indoor environment. It can dissolve or weaken building materials, damage floors and ceilings, and can also cause microbial growth if you don’t fix water damage quickly and professionally.

The faster the water is extracted the less damage to the building structure and contents.

The first thing to do if you are dealing with water damage at your place of business is to remove the water immediately. The faster the water is extracted the less damage to the building structure and contents. In situations, this is not enough. Standing water from carpet, flooring and walls can cause permanent damage if not taken care of in a timely manner

Extracting water in commercial buildings or properties, is a very important part of any large water loss. Fire sprinklers, used to stop fire from spreading, can leave you with wet and soggy office spaces.

Water extraction is used to assist in the prevention of microbial growth from expanding and growing. Extraction of water is also needed to keep floors from buckling. The dehumidifiers and air movers will be placed by the technicians in the necessary areas of the building.

A SERVPRO manager will walk the property with the owner/manager and adjuster explaining the process and to answer any questions they may have about removal of property, items and demo.

Cleaning Your Ducts at Your Commercial Property

7/13/2020 (Permalink)

It’s that time of year where everyone wonders if they should get their air ducts cleaned. Dirty air ducts usually spread dust, dirt, and mold around your property. This can lead to poor indoor air quality.

While it is normal to have some dust and pollen in your air ducts, you might want to consider getting your ducts cleaned if the following is true:

1. There is mold growing inside of the air ducts

It is not always easy to see if mold is present. If your service provider says that mold is growing, ask him to show you where it is. If you do have mold in your air ducts, please note that it is impossible to completely get rid of mold.

2. Your ducts are infested with vermin

Do you have unwanted guests living in your air ducts? If so, you should call an expert to get them out as quickly as possible in order to prevent the problem from getting worse.

3. Your ducts are clogged with debris and dust

If your air ducts are clogged, you should call a professional to clean out your ducts. A clog can contribute to poor air quality.

If you have experienced any of the above issues, make sure you find out what caused the issue because it is likely that it will happen again.

If you believe your ventilation system falls into one of these three categories, call SERVPRO! The experts at SERVPRO will inspect your ductwork and HVAC system, give recommendations about the best way to address poor air quality, and fix your problem.

Commercial Cleanings

7/9/2020 (Permalink)

COVID-19 has taken the world by surprise and it is still unknown how much longer the pandemic will last. Texarkana has been hit by the coronavirus and has made many residents frightened and worried about their safety.

Those in charge of public spaces everywhere are responding to the pandemic threat by canceling events, recommending “social distancing,” and reminding people of best practices in hygiene.

In March, Texarkana schools and universities closed as a precautionary measure. It is unknown what impact there will, but there are things we can do to be proactive before opening schools and universities back up.

The World Health Organization released an advisory for schools that remain open to:

  • Inform students on how to protect themselves.
  • Promote best practices with hygiene like hand washing.
  • Cleaning & disinfecting school facilities (especially water & sanitation).
  • Increasing airflow and ventilation.

When it comes to preventing the spread of this virus, it is up to us as a community to do the best we can to remain informed and act with thoughtful consideration.

Students and their parents trust administrators to address public health issues and we are here to offer our school cleaning services to help you put together an action plan that includes decontamination.

Cleanliness is how to best be proactive and we are here to help. We are prepared to clean and disinfect your school or university, according to protocols set forth by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. We have years of experience in dealing with biological contaminants, and we will go beyond the scope of work that regular janitorial staff perform on a daily basis.

SERVPRO Response to COVID-19

Bring them peace of mind to your students and their families by having your school or university sanitized and disinfected by SERVPRO. Our cleanup procedures generally include cleaning of porous and non-porous surfaces, disinfecting of non-porous surfaces, cleaning and disinfecting of equipment, tools, and/or supplies used for cleanup process, and disposal of waste.

The CDC recommends usage of a labeled hospital-grade disinfectant with claims against similar pathogens to the coronavirus. Multiple products in the SERVPRO product line carry the EPA-approved emerging pathogens claims. While there is currently no product tested against this particular strain of the coronavirus, we are following all guidelines as provided by the CDC and local authorities.

Tips For Reducing Maintenance Costs in Your Commercial Property

8/20/2019 (Permalink)

How to Keep Your Cost Down:

Around the country, facility management professionals have learned a great deal about how to keep their costs down while maintaining safe, comfortable buildings. Take a look at some of the tips gathered from these professionals, for some improvements in your own maintenance cost.

  1. Focus on Lighting: According to the EPA, about 35% of a commercial building’s energy goes toward lighting. Schools, stores and offices around the country have tried a few tactics to save money in this area. Some of those include:
  • Dimming lights during off-use periods
  • Replacing older lightbulbs with more efficient bulbs
  • Installing digital sensing and control systems

In lighting and other facility management areas, there may be incentives available.

  1. Reduce HVAC Costs: One of the best ways to keep heating and cooling costs down is to schedule annual (or more frequent) inspections and maintenance. Other tactics could include closer looks at machines in your facilities that generate heat or adding some landscaping elements that help you maintain comfortable temperatures.
  2. Tackle Repairs Early: Many costs related to repairs could be reduced by catching problems when they are small. Scheduling routine maintenance is one way to do this. It is nearly always cheaper to prevent or repair minor issues then it is to put things off until they have grown into much larger problems. For example, one corporate location replaced filters on air handles several times a year because of the buildup of debris on the fresh air shafts. When technicians recognized this problem, they devised a solution that kept debris away from the shafts, reducing the need to replace filters and decreasing the maintenance cost.

Water Damage is Serious

8/12/2019 (Permalink)

Severe water damage in a commercial building

Nobody ever thinks it can happen to them, but it can. Water intrusion may be more severe in commercial buildings than in a residential setting and the effects more extensive. Many commercial structures have a larger volume of water entering the premises through plumbing supply lines and at a higher water pressure. The quantity of outgoing sewage is greater than a typical residence, as well. Also, commercial buildings tend to be of larger square footage than a home, so entry points for water intrusion through areas like the roof, exterior walls or windows are commensurately greater in number, as well.

Water intrusion in commercial buildings can damage high-value equipment like computers and also building services such as HVAC, lighting, elevators and security equipment. Common long-term consequences of water damage like the growth of toxic mold may be even more problematic than in a home due to the larger occupancy of a business or other commercial enterprise. When a greater number of people with a wider range of sensitivity are exposed to mold and bacteria spores, health impacts may be significantly magnified, perhaps leading to an enforced closure of the facility until the situation is fully remediated.

Typical issues from water intrusion in the commercial environment include:

  • Water from roof leaks penetrating through ceilings. Chronic leakage through the roof may proceed unnoticed for long periods, hidden by suspended ceiling panels or in electrical or HVAC service areas above.
  • Ruptures of water supply lines typically release clean (white) water.  Sewage backups or leaks in drain pipes release toxic (black) water that may be a biohazard and require evacuation of the premises.
  • Flooding from external sources can result from heavy rains, storms such as hurricanes or local overflowing lakes, reservoirs or rivers.
  • Moisture intrusion through the building envelope is typically more subtle. The humid outdoor air may be drawn in through structural cracks and gaps. Over a period, chronic dampness forms in spaces like wall voids, attics and service areas, spawning hidden mold growth that persists unseen.

For professional remediation of water intrusion in commercial buildings and to prevent secondary damages such as mold growth, contact SERVPRO of Texarkana at 903-832-4400.

Your business may already have an emergency plan, but do you have everything included that you should? Formulating a complete evacuation plan may not be easy, but doing so can help protect you and your employees. Here are some things you may want make sure are included.

1. Fire Extinguisher Locations

Making sure everyone knows where the fire extinguishers are located can save precious time during a fire. The extinguishers should be easy to locate and easily accessible during an emergency.

2. Building Exits

An important part of an evacuation plan is knowing where the nearest exits are from any point in the building. This will allow your staff to quickly and safely leave in the event of an emergency. There should be at least two exit options from ever point in case one path is blocked.

3. A Meeting Place

Summer Office Declutter Check List

7/10/2019 (Permalink)

Clean desks lead to more productivity, more productivity leads to raises, raises lead to island vacations!

Put Some Clean In Your Summer

Tips and tricks to help declutter your office.

Divide Your Workplace Into Zones: Determine how you want and need to use the space and set up zones for your daily functions. You may require a workspace for your computer, a library area for your research, a storage area for supplies and a filing area for your archives. This will provide a foundation for a more efficient use of space.

Keep Only What You Need At Arm's Length: Boxes of pens, stacks of papers and old coffee cups need to go. Rid your desk of visual clutter by paring down the items on top to the essentials only. Supplies, paperwork and personal items should be kept in the zones you've established for them.

Create A Daily Paper System: Consider creating hanging files or baskets labeled "To Read", "To Do", and "To File". Establish set days for each, so that you don't get behind or feel the overwhelming need to do everything at once.

Sort Your Catch-All Drawer: Use drawer dividers to give everything a place, like compartments for paperclips and rubber bands. Go through the drawer every six weeks and clear out anything that is out of place or isn't being used.

Eliminate Digital Clutter: Digital clutter can be just as stressful as physical clutter. Organize digital files and your e-mail inbox just as you would paper files - with a system of logical and clearly labeled folders. Also, keep the icons on your desktop to a bare minimum, and trade in sticky notes on your monitor for calendar reminders.

Disinfect Regularly: Prevent the buildup of dust, dirt, food stains and fingerprints. Wipe down your desk, phone, keyboard and monitor once a week with disinfecting wipes

Fast, Reliable Mold Remediaton For Your Restaurant

6/28/2019 (Permalink)

If steamy pots lead to mold damage, contact SERVPRO of Texarkana for fast and reliable mold remediation.

When mold damage threatens your restaurant, count on the SERVPRO team.

Four States Area restaurants, bakeries, and other food preparation enterprises know inspections are regularly conducted to ensure public health and safety. Mold growth is one of the negative marks your business can receive, so you want to move on mold remediation before the inspector comes. Stick to creating your delicious savory and sweet treats and hire us to manage the mold.

Mold damage in your bakery and restaurant not only violates health regulations but also repels your customers if they see or hear about it. In a perfect world, your business would never need to deal with mold growth, but the conditions supportive of mold spores germination are common in most food preparation areas. Mold prefers temperatures from 70 to 90 degrees Fahrenheit, but some strains thrive at temperatures as low as 30 or high as 120 degrees. Water, even in the form of steam or high humidity fuels the growth of the fungi, and organic materials offer a food source. All commercial kitchens present this type of environment. We are familiar with the challenges of mold remediation in these circumstances.

Expect SERVPRO mold remediation technicians to assess both the current mold damage and the various sources of moisture observed. Unless your business addresses the moisture issues, mold can recur. In kitchens, one of the essentials is an adequate ventilation system, including exhaust fans that move the steam out of the area. Spills, neglected plumbing leaks, and condensation from coolers, freezers, and ice machines all contribute to the water mold spores seek to absorb.

SERVPRO technicians apply the ANSI/IICRC S520 Standard for Professional Mold Remediation using the IICRC Reference Guide for Professional Mold Remediation when responding to your mold emergency. The restoration industry outlines the best practices in this standard and guide, and we as industry leaders follow the recommendations and steps.

We do our best to complete the mold remediation while allowing your business to operate. The SERVPRO team erects physical barriers to contain the moldy area, a zone outside of which your staff and customers remain during the process. Air quality cannot be compromised, so we frequently use negative air pressure machines to prevent the contaminated air from drifting into the rest of your business and employ HEPA filters to catch airborne debris before venting to the outdoors.

Once contained, our technicians remove the mold, using wiping, scraping, and abrasive techniques like soda blasting. SERVPRO  clears the residues with HEPA filtered vacuums, and bag the debris for disposal according to local codes. EPA-registered antimicrobial formulations treat surfaces to inhibit future mold growth and damage.

Let SERVPRO of Texarkana partner with you when mold damage threatens your food service business. Call us for an evaluation of even a minor infestation at (903) 832-4400 -- the sooner, the better to retain your hard-earned reputation for unique and tasty delicacies.

Do You Ever Think About the Plumbing in Your Commercial Property?

6/7/2019 (Permalink)

A pipe on the hot water heater busted at this local library resulting in major water damage.

Cracked water mains or broken pipes can be a major plumbing issue for a business owner. Plumbing problems can add a great deal of stress and anxiety to an owner. Proper and effective management can aid in lowering the chance of a plumbing disaster.

  • Preventative maintenance: Preventative maintenance is essential to protecting your property, employees and customers. Have a routine in place to inspect your plumbing on a fairly regular basis. At the very least, do a yearly full inspection of all of your plumbing.
  • Fix small problems to prevent large ones: The reason preventative maintenance is important is addressing minor issues as you find them after inspection. A plumbing issue can possibly lead to lost business, so fixing problems when they are found is essential.
  • Have a reliable vendor: Find a trusted and reliable plumbing company in your area. There are many avenues you can take in order to find a reliable plumbing specialist. Find one that you are comfortable with and see yourself doing business with for years to come.

Plumbing problems can be a major headache so taking the time to detect and fix problems is very important to keep your business up and running. SERVPRO of Texarkana is here to help if a plumbing catastrophe does affect your business, but we also want businesses in our community to be safe and free of issues that can be prevented. If we can be of any service to your business, give us a call 24/7 at 903-832-4400.

Emergency Board Up

6/5/2019 (Permalink)

Damage to this interior wall was caused when a car ran into the building.

If your home or business incurs storm or fire damage resulting in an opening in your building you may be in need of emergency board up services. Any openings in the structure needs to be properly boarded up to protect the building from weather and illegal entry. Your insurance policy also requires you to be proactive on protecting your home or business after any type of damage has occurred, otherwise the insurance company could account any further/secondary damage to the structure as negligence.

Not every situation requires the most extensive board up that the U.S Fire Administration have in their board up procedure manual, such as after a fire where the entire home is destroyed  and is considered a complete loss. While each emergency board up is different, let’s take a look at how to properly board up a structure after damage has caused an opening in the building.

Determining How Much Protection Is Needed

  1. Openings in the basement, first floor doors, windows and any point of entry accessible from a porch, fire escape or other potential climbing point require additional security measures. These openings should be barricaded with plywood, 2x4s, bolts and nails.
  2. Openings that are at least 10′ from ground level which are not accessible from a porch, fire escape, roof, or other climbing point can be secured with nails in each brace, and every 12″ around the perimeter. For these openings the plywood should be fitted so that it rests snugly against the exterior frame, butting up to the siding on wood frame buildings and up to the brickwork on brick buildings. It may be necessary to remove the staff bead so this fit can be flush and tight.

Boarding Up

  1. Cut plywood to fit over the window and door openings, flush with outside of the molding. Note: For buildings with metal door and window frames the alternative is to cut the plywood and 2x4s to fit the inside of the door frame buffed up against the band molding.
  2. Cut the 2x4s to fit the horizontal dimension of the plywood. You will need two 2×4 exterior and two interior braces for each window and three sets for each door. Note: For buildings with metal doors and window frames the 2x4s for the outside will be cut to the dimensions of the plywood, fitting inside the door frame, against the band molding. For the inside the 2x4s will be cut to the outside dimension of the door or window frame.
  3. Pre drill 3/8th inch holes in the plywood and the braces.
  4. The holes will be placed approximately 1/3 of the length of the brace from each outside edge of the door and window jam.
  5. The two window braces will be placed 1/3 of the distance from the top and the bottom of the window.
  6. The three door braces will be placed; one in the center of the doorway, and one half the distance from the center to the top and to the bottom of the doorway.
  7. Place the plywood over the exterior opening and nail to the frame. Note: For metal frames place the plywood and braces inside the frame against the band molding.
  8. Place the 2×4 braces over the interior and exterior of the door or window.
  9. Place the large washer over the carriage bolt and place the bolt through the holes.
  10. Place washer and nut inside and tighten securely. Torque the nut so that it slightly compresses the interior 2×4.

Five Steps to Remove Water Damage Odors From Your Business

3/19/2019 (Permalink)

Large Water Loss at Local Library

If you incur water damage in your commercial property, there may be a strange, unwelcome odor permeating the air and displeasing customers, employees or yourself. Depending on the source, there are multiple ways to treat the problem. Whether it’s mold growth or something else, you can act to remove the smell with these five steps.

1. Ventilate the Building and Evaluate the Situation

If there is a window or door that can be opened, it should be. This allows any lingering scents to disperse. You can then work to identify and locate any centralized, problematic scents still remaining in your commercial building.

Once the problem is located, you should decide how to proceed. If sewage loss is causing the odor, it’s best to stay away from the contaminated water and contact a professional.

2. Dry Wet Carpeting and Flooring

Carpet holds moisture rather well, and it may be the source of the scent that is overwhelming your business. A wet and dry vacuum, which can be rented if needed, can shampoo the carpet and then dry it afterwards. This sanitizes the area to potentially remove some of the bothersome smell.

3. Scrub Moldy Surfaces

Mold growth left alone will continue to reproduce and spread along with its musty odor. Any visible growth on a solid surface can be treated with thorough scrubbing using a solution such as vinegar.

4. Spray Furniture and Upholstery

If you have access to a spray bottle, furniture can be sprayed and scrubbed the same way as hard surfaces. However, porous materials are likely not able to be fully cleaned this way, since the fungus settles deep within.

5. Consult Professionals for Extensive Cleanup

Not everything can be done without commercial grade machines and proper procedures. An expert storm and mold damage treatment company can help remove problems caused water damage.
If you have tried unsuccessfully to remove odors from your commercial property and need professional help, call SERVPRO of Texarkana 903-832-4400

Three Tips for maintaining Your Business's Exterior

3/7/2019 (Permalink)

SERVPRO of Texarkana is ready to respond

If you are expecting bad weather in Texarkana,  it is a good idea to check your business’s building for anything that might create more damage during a storm. Even if there are not any bad storms in the forecast, proper exterior maintenance is important and should be done regularly. When you are inspecting the outside of your building, keep these things in mind.

1. Locate Vulnerable Areas

Some areas of your building are more likely to suffer damage than others. You should be sure to check these areas closely. Windows, in particular, should be examined carefully during a building inspection. The weather stripping and insulation might deteriorate more quickly than sturdier parts of the building, so you should make sure that all of the seals are functioning properly and will not let in cold air and water.

2. Check for Problems

You should perform exterior maintenance regularly to check for any problems in the walls of your building. Make sure that there are no gaps or cracks in the walls or cladding that could let in air or water as even a small amount of liquid could cause a lot of damage, particularly if mold were to start growing in the walls. Be sure to check the thickness of any paints and coatings as well.

3. Hire a Professional

In order to make sure that everything is as it should be, you should have exterior maintenance done regularly by a damage restoration specialist. It is good to examine the building on your own between inspections with a professional, but there might be issues that you don’t recognize. A professional will be able to find any problems that you might have overlooked.

Keeping your building maintained is an important part of storm preparation and should be done regularly to keep everything in top shape. It is a simple way to prevent damage during storms and bad weather.

Looking Out for Your Business

6/22/2018 (Permalink)

Protecting a business from a major fire or water damage is not something that is at the forefront of any commercial property owner's mind, but knowing what to do should that situation ever arise is vital. Here is some information about the various categories of structure damages, and the safety precautions surrounding them, that every business owner should know:

  • Fire classifications and extinguishers - A fire with a stable supply of fuel, oxygen, and heat can double in size within 60 seconds; therefore, quick action is key to preventing catastrophic damage. Fires, and their extinguishers, are categorized into 5 different classes based on fuel types. An ABC fire extinguisher is typically what most people stock within their homes and businesses as it is versatile – it can extinguish 3 out of the 5 fire groups; however, fires result from Class K type situations, which require their own specific extinguisher. Click on the link above to learn more.
  • Mold myth and facts - Bleach does not kill mold, it can even make a mold problem worse. It is effective if the growth is on a hard, solid surface, such as tile or glass, but it will not work when the surface is porous. Unfortunately, many growths occur on these materials, like drywall and wood, in our homes. Bleach does not soak into porous materials, which means it can’t reach the growth spread out through the pores, it only kills the surface. The outer surface of the affected area will appear clean, as the bleach will have whitened any stains and scrubbed away the exterior mold, but the internal mold will be quick to grow back.
  • Signs of water damage - While it may seem like water damages should be easy to spot, many times their signs are subtle and hard to find. Water damages, particularly when they go unnoticed for a long period of time, can cause extensive damage to the structure of homes and they encourage mold growth. Early intervention can save you time and money. These signs can include stains, peeling, and a bad odor. To learn more about the signs of water damage follow the link above.

MINERAL BLASTING FOR COMMERCIAL PROPERTIES

6/21/2018 (Permalink)

Commercial job - removing smoke damage from sheathing with a media blaster using ground garnet

Commercial Smoke and Odor Cleaning

One of the major issues after a large scale fire (or a small one for that matter) is cleaning the contents and structure after the loss. This is done in order to eliminate the smoke odor that lingers on everything the smoke touches. On a recent commercial job SERVPRO of Texarkana needed to clean a 10,000 sq ft facility after they experienced a fire. After considering all our available options; hand cleaning, sodablasting, sandblasting, mineral blasting, and dry-ice blasting, we determined that mineral blasting would be the best decision given the requirements of this particular job.

What is Mineral Blasting (Cleaning)?

Mineral blasting is an efficient and cost-effective way for industries to maximize production capability and quality. Mineral blasting is similar to sand blasting, plastic bead blasting or soda blasting where media is accelerated in a pressurized air stream to impact a surface to be cleaned or prepared.

Mineral blasting uses ground garnet media, accelerated at supersonic speeds, and creates mini-explosions on the surface to lift the undesirable item off the underlying substrate.

Why Mineral Blasting?

  • is a nonflammable and nonconductive cleaning method
  • is environmentally responsible and contains no secondary contaminants such as solvents
  • allows most items to be cleaned in place without time-consuming disassembly
  • can be used without damaging active electrical or mechanical parts or creating fire hazards
  • can be as gentle as dusting smoke damage from books or as aggressive as removing weld slag from tooling
  • can be used for many general cleaning applications
  • We are very experienced at using this and other types of processes in order to mitigate any malodors from any type of commercial loss. If you or your company has experienced any type of issue, give SERVPRO of Texarkana a call at 903-832-4400
